Aquanaut’s Holiday, an oft-overlooked PlayStation deep-sea diving series, is one of this author’s all-time favourite franchises – so it’s exciting to see Subside poised for release on PSVR2.
This game promises unparalleled aquatic realism, as you plunge beneath the waves of a variety of biomes and interact with the wildlife. All of the sea creatures look meticulously rendered, and the game has a hyper-realistic look to it, which will surely pop on the PS5 headset’s display.

The game’s available to wishlist right now, but there’s no release date attached just yet. We’d love to see more experiences like this, though; Afrika on the PS3 was such a unique experience, for example, and there’s very little like it these days.

Saw a deepdive (😋) retrospective of the Aquanaut’s Holiday series on YouTube the other day. The second one seemed very intriguing, in a ultra-japanese way. The PS1 era was ripe with these interesting experiences as developers were exploring what could be done with the third dimension.
@LuXifer Yeah, miss those days!
This looks fantastic, I've not played Aquanaut's Holiday but was a big fan of Endless Ocean on the Wii and this is right up my street. I've had a lot of fun with Kayak VR and am often sticking my head under water to see what's there
This looks pretty cool. I might pick this up. The PSVR2 totally has a hole to be filled with this kind of neat game.
Would be amazing to have VR version of Subnautica on PS5.
So its basically Kayak VR, without a kayak?
@LuXifer Could you provide a link to the video please? I'd like to see it. Thanks!
@Acquiescence Here you go.

Can't wait for this.
I love the sea and marine life, going to be awesome!
I’ve been watching this one, it looks great. Wishlisted and will preorder the moment I can.
I know exactly who's been waiting for this game.....@Neon-whatever-this-month
I didn't know Aquanaut's Holiday existed until literally yesterday and now I'm hearing about it for a second time through seemingly totally unrelated topics and channels.
It's so wild when that happens.
